Week 11 / 11ème semaine ☼ Nov. 29th - Dec. 1st


Wednesday Dec 1st: We did page 6 of the Livret de Civilisation “Club de sport, de musique, et de danse” reviewing activities. We finished the CDRom exercises for Unit 5, and started Unité 6 Leçon 2 thru ex. C. They also corrected their quiz from Monday, from the original 3-page handout of useful expressions they got earlier in November.

Monday: Happy after Thanksgiving! 

They all got a gift of White-out tape, as the girls are crazy about it, so I figured it was time to give them their own.

Today we had a quiz on the handout of useful vocabulary!

We did the CD Rom exercises for Unit 4, and page 6 of the Livret de Civilisation “Les français et les animaux” reviewing animals and numbers.

Devoirs/homework: Anything unfinished from last week. They can try to write sentences/ a little journal with French they know, if they feel confident to do this. Illustrations are welcome!

Week 10 / 10ème semaine ☼ Nov. 22nd ~Happy Thanksgiving!


Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all!
We finished Unit 5.
Alessio’s papa Giacomo came and gave us a wonderful slideshow of photos of Corsica, particularly of the marine life. There were also some photos of Alessio in Paris, and the students did a marvelous job of recognizing and calling out the sites in Paris!

Week 9 / 9ème semaine ☼ Nov. 15th – 17th

No class next Wednesday, Nov. 24th.  On Dec 15th we will have a holiday party, and then will break until Jan 3rd, and our last class of the 1st semester will be January 26th.

Monday Nov 22nd Alessio will give us a photo-show of Corsica.

·         We finished p. 73, 74, 75 Unité 1-4
·         Thru Unité 5, p. 22, léçon 3E.
·         We finished the handout of useful sentences, with translations. We may have a quiz on this after Thanksgiving.
·         Review/Revision : colors : fem & masc forms, –er verbs and conjugations for je & tu: je joue, tu joues, possessive pronouns un/une, mon/ma.
·         Livret de Civilisation p. 4 & 5

Homework:
Dico unit 4, p. 63-65
Cahier thru p. 21, p. 73, 74, 75 Unité 1-4

Week 9 / 9e semaine ~ Nov. 15th & 17th

No class next Wednesday Nov 24th. Monday Nov 22nd Alessio will be sharing the photos of his trip in Corsica, so I hope all my students will be well, and present!

Homework:
Cahier: Finish through thru p. 20 ex.3A.
Le dictionnaire: ~cutting the new words from Unit 4 (p. 63 & 64 of their cahier.) - and gluing them into their notebook.
Le révision - Review of units 1-4:  p. 73, 74, and 75 (Unit 4 part) in the back of their cahier. If this is too difficult, we will do it together in class.

Week 8 / 8ème Semaine ♥ Nov. 8th - 10th


Good news! Alessio is back from Corsica, and will be back in class Monday the 15th !  :)

Please forgive the non-update to last week's posting, and the late update to this week's! I'd been doing some computer maintenance... And life keeps happening!

Monday: Today was our first day in our new room, the classroom of Mrs. Bush, next to where we were before. Although we will miss seeing the younger classes, it is very nice to have our own room! 
Along with working on several songs, and a role-play from Alex et Zoé, (CD-1-34) we started Unit 5, "Qu'est-ce que tu veux?" (What do you want?)

We played Red light Green light, and Un, deux, trois, soleil! outside.

Homework: p. 18-19, 1A-B, 2A.

Wednesday: They received handouts of lyrics for several songs, Un éléphant ça trompe, Sur le Pont d’Avignon, et Champs Elysées.


We also started learning sentences that can be used in class and elsewhere: they have a handout with translations.
Unit 5 "Qu'est-ce que tu veux?" Méthode through Unité 5 : Lécon 2, p. 21.  

Homework: p. 19 2B, p. 20 3A. They can also do the dictionary - cutting the new words from Unit 4 (p. 63 & 64 of their cahier.) - and gluing them into their notebook.

Reviewed Charles Perrault's Fairy Tales Characters : Personnage de Contes de Fées de Charles Perrault - see p. 12 of the Civilisation booklet.


Played 1,2,3 Soleil (Red Light Green Light). When they are caught moving they have to "retourne au poulailler" (go back to the chicken coup.)


Homework: p. 16 3A. More can be done if they understand it.
