Week 13 / 13ème semaine ♪♫ ♪ Dec. 13th - Dec. 15th

I hope you have all been having a wonderful holiday season, and have a Happy New Year!

Wednesday, Dec 15th:

As you know, we had our Christmas party in the last part of class. Thanks once again to Valerie for the treats and gifts! Before the party in class we did some Christmas related activities, such as making Christmas cards in French, and doing some puzzles and worksheets with Christmas and winter vocabulary, and a little book called Noël je vois... (Christmas I see...)

Monday, Dec 13th:

Hello folks! Happy almost Holiday! Forgive my late and sparse postings, I've been a bit under the weather, and like you, am looking forward to the brief break! :)

We are having a little party Wednesday, about 5:00.

Homework: nothing new, but they should have finished all of Unit 6, including p. 75 Unite 5, and page 76 Unite 6, and the dictionary words. However, they can also just complete this for January.

Wednesday they are welcome to dress up, and bring craft materials for making holiday cards.

Homework: Learn the song! :)

Vive le vent is the French version of Jingle Bells. They are sung to the same tune, but the words are completely different. The translation given here is the literal translation of the French Christmas carol Vive le vent.

Vive le vent, vive le vent,
Vive le vent d'hiver,
Qui s'en va sifflant, soufflant
Dans les grands sapins verts.

Live the wind, live the wind,
Live the winter wind,
Which goes whistling, blowing
In the big green Christmas trees.
Oh !
Vive le temps, vive le temps,
Vive le temps d'hiver,
Boule de neige et jour de l'an
Et bonne année grand-mère !
Oh!
Live the weather, live the weather,
Live the winter weather,
Snowball and new year's day
and happy new year Grandma!”
